Elvis Lives on Elvii Radio

Now Elvis fans can hear their favorite tunes performed by their favorite Elvis Tribute Artists streaming live on the internet on Elvii Radio.

Elvii Radio is more than just Elvis impersonators with the expected sparfarkle and hairspray. It features Elvis sound-a-likes and even famous acts giving it their best Elvis croon including Wayne Newton, The Judds, Tanya Tucker, ZZ Top, Billy Joel and more. But there are the impersonators too including notables like Johnny Harra from Dallas Texas and the late Jimmy "Orion" Ellis who we're 'doing' Elvis even before he went to the Promised Land. Jimmy Ellis even recorded on the King's first record label, "Sun" Records. Even country music singer Ronnie McDowell stopped by for an interview. The Curb recording artist began his career after Elvis died with his smash hit, "The King Is Gone." In addition to other hits like, "Older Woman" and "Unchained Melody" McDowell has over 200 cuts in rotation at Elvii Radio.

Elvii Radio is the creation of veteran broadcaster Jake Sommers and Elvis aficionado Jamie Coyne. Coyne, who founded the World's Largest Elvis Presley Fan Club which boasts over 100,000 members also produces the world famous "Elvis Extravaganza" Impersonator Contest and Tribute Show. The production which plays to sold-out audiences at state fairs and casinos coast-to-coast culminates in a multi-days national impersonator contest national finals and elvis fan convention each year in Nevada.

For Coyne the radio station was a much-needed outlet in the tribute industry. "Nothing like this has ever been done before!" Coyne said. "It's professionally produced and features an on air staff of three dj's." Coyne continued that the station broadcasts live 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and comes complete with a listener comment and request line.

Sommers hosts a 6 hour program daily on Elvii Radio in addition to his day-gig at WCVO 104.9 FM in Columbus, OH where he is the afternoon jock. Sommers has become a favorite personality among the Elvii fans and tribute artists.
