EXPO VISION PRESENTS THE INTERNATIONAL SINDHI TRADE SHOW

The Partition in 1947 forced lakhs of Sindhi Hindus to leave Sindh, their homeland, for good.
Their subsequent history has been one of re-locating and settling down in India and other countries around the globe. But the Sindhis have never believed in playing Victims of History, or Fate.

Fifty-eight years have passed since the Partition, and the Sindhis have now re-invented themselves: the refugees of yesterday are kings of business today - wherever they happen to have settled down! Among their favourite places are Mumbai, Hong Kong, Dubai, Lagos, Barcelona, Antwerp, London, and Los Angeles. In the list of refugees turned business kings are: the Hindujas, the Rahejas, Manu Chhabria of JUMBO Electronics, the Hiranandani brothers, the Mirchandanis of ONIDA fame, to name a few.

In the 57 years since the Partition of India, this is the first time ever that Sindhis from all over the world will come together to mix business with pleasure and culture, for a period of three days and three nights from December 24-26, 2005.

Nowhere has such a show ever been held, and it is high time we did. Yes, there have been a few Sammelans, to highlight the community’s problems and social issues.

But the International Sindhi Trade Show is much more – it is about business, trade, and about celebrating the Sindhi community’s identity, and achievements in every field – ranging from manufacturing, building homes, to fashion design, professional sports, and Bollywood.

To celebrate this re-invention, State Bank of India has taken an initiative with the help of Expo Vision to provide a platform to Sindhis from all over the globe to come together for the first time - in Mumbai at an exclusive International Sindhi Trade Show and combine business with pleasure. Like the Punjabis, the Sindhis too are a boisterous, expressive community! They work hard, and they play hard.

This international show will consist of hundreds of Corporate stalls, where leading Sindhi businessmen will engage in trade and networking with fellow Sindhis (and anyone else who drops in) from all walks of life.
Along with business, there will also be Fun, Pleasure and Entertainment – in the form of ISTS Awards Nite for Sindhis in Business and Bollywood, Photo Exhibition of Sindhis in Bollywood and Business Seminars! This is a CELEBRATION of Sindhi Identity, Culture and Money, which has been long overdue.
