Canal Toys Appoints Bill Uzell as President/CEO

Westborough, MA – Canal Toys today announced the appointment of toy industry veteran, Bill Uzell, as president and CEO for its entire North and South American operations.

Uzell arrives at Canal Toys from his previous position as Executive Vice President of Fashion Angels Enterprises, where he spent four years leading the company to international prominence in the tween girls craft category. Uzell's knowledge and foresight in guiding contracts for the most productive licensed properties and appropriate product development through Mattel, MGA, and Sanrio, among others, for properties including Barbie®, Monster High™, and Lalaloopsy™ will assist Canal Toys' immediate productivity and impact of new products in the U.S., Canada and all of South America.

Uzell's background also includes his role as the former Executive Vice President in charge of the Electronic Learning Product toy division of Oregon Scientific, Inc. and president of Digital Blue. Prior to that, Uzell was the Worldwide Manager of Smart Toys at Intel Corporation, and served as Director of Sales at Mattel, Inc., Sega of America and Sony Corporation of America.
