Accela Communications Releases AccelaCast Version 3.5 - Certification and Testing Module Leads Round of Enhancements
December 14, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Accela Communications, Inc. a leading provider of web-based marketing services, announced the release of version 3.5 of its AccelaCast on-demand rich media platform. A central part of the update includes functionality to support certification and testing within a webcast program. The capability further expands the use of the platform for educational purposes when testing is required of viewers for certification or advancement. Dynamic score and threshold calculations help to determine the knowledge level of the candidate in real-time. Form branching is also linked to the test results allowing program managers to deliver different content to users based on their results – from completion certificates to “try again” notices. The system also supports customized feedback that is highlighted on answer pages to let users know whether they completed a question correctly or not. "Combined with 24/7 availability, the AccelaCast Certification and Testing functionality is ideal for companies that deliver educational programs to their constituents, whether they be physicians, pharmacists, students, or business professionals. The Certification and Testing module and the ease of use of this platform, make it far superior to many others we evaluated," commented Beth Cavallaro, Sr. Director, Strategic Business Solutions at Advanced Concepts Institute.

Additional AccelaCast platform enhancements include:
· A built-in proprietary media server improves the viewing experience for users whose security systems prevent direct connection, can’t connect to the Macromedia Communications Server, or are using proxy servers that don’t efficiently support streaming media.
· Improved registration processing is incorporated to handle registrations up to 50 times faster.
· Segment reporting now measures view times of specific program sections, in addition to the program as a whole.
· Enhanced animation support is provided for foreground and background multimedia elements, such as flyover speaker titles
· In-program navigation can now be directly embedded in the program content area for DVD style program menus to support branching content, or alternate navigation options.
