Casey McCann Receives CRTS Designation

November 13th, 2013, Santa Barbara CA: Hazelwood Allied Moving & Storage announces that Casey McCann, son of the company's founders John and Janet, has followed in his parents' commitment to achieving high levels of customer service with his recent CRTS® (Certified Relocation & Transition Specialist) designation.

A need for this certification was recognized in 2004 by quality movers from across the country. They were concerned with the lack of education and standards within industries that support late life home transition, such as moving, downsizing or aging in place. The Senior Move Certified™ Program is a joint project between Movers' Associations and CRTS® Certification.

Hazelwood Allied is a Santa Barbara storage and moving company which is proud to be part of an organization that is dedicated to upholding professional standards. The CRTS® credential is the only individual certification which is awarded to industry providers who meet specific education, exam, experience and security requirements. It is also the only industry certification targeted to the Senior Mover, Senior Relocation and Senior Transition fields. The CRTS® Professional Registry lists qualified service providers such as realtors, movers, move coordinators, home stagers and other related professionals who assist in the senior relocation process.

McCann had to meet eligibility criteria and pass the CRTS® Certification Exam, which tests for competency in senior relocation services. The exam included 50 multiple choice questions developed by psychometricians that are specific to older clients such as senior housing, medical, mental conditions and liability issues. There were basic industry questions which evaluate an applicant's understanding of good professional practices in areas such as packing and service. As a designated CRTS® McCann now agrees to comply with the Standards and Rules set forth in the Code of Conduct.
