TornadoSuit's New Activity Suit Comfortably Corrects Scoliosis

Grand Blanc, MI - A new activity suit for scoliosis treatment may be a desirable alternative for children affected with idiopathic scoliosis, according to a new study. The Scoliosis Activity Suit™, when worn for a period of one year, has the ability to correct scoliosis in nearly 50% of patients, with another 42% showing stabilization of their curves. The activity suit is worn for 1-6 hours per day, compared to conventional rigid bracing in which patients must wear them for 18-23 hours per day.

"A diagnosis of scoliosis can be a scary one for patients and their parents," says physician and scoliosis researcher Dr. Mark Morningstar, developer of the Scoliosis Activity Suit™, which is owned by TornadoSuit, LLC. "Because there are not many conservative, non-surgical options for children with scoliosis, we wanted to create a new suit that may help correct scoliosis while simultaneously increasing patient compliance through increased comfort and patient's feeling less self-conscious about their treatment."

The Scoliosis Activity Suit™, says Morningstar, causes the "core spinal muscles to self-correct the scoliosis rather than providing a forced correction via a rigid brace." He continues, "in children with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis we often see an issue with core spine stability, and the activity suit stimulates the spinal muscles to work together to help re-stabilize the spinal in a more corrected position. In rigid bracing, studies show that muscles may weaken during rigid brace treatment, which causes the scoliosis to progress once bracing is discontinued."

It is important to mention that the Scoliosis Activity Suit is designed for concurrent use with a scoliosis-specific exercise program, such as the Scoliosis BootCamp™, which has grown in popularity in recent years due to its consistent track record of results. "For patients looking for an alternative to rigid bracing, or for those who already tried rigid bracing without success, the Scoliosis Activity Suit™ provides patients with another means of potentially stabilizing or correcting their scoliosis with repeated use," adds Morningstar.
