Tracey Hawkins, owner of Safety and Security Source, a Kansas City, Missouri-based company, states that online Holiday sales of safety and security products are set to eclipse her company's previous Holiday sales figures. Hawkins has also had more interest in her company’s free Safety Product Expo, where she sets up a table at a company or organization and consults with employees during their breaks or lunchtime about safety and security concerns and sells her products. “More employers are responding to their employees safety and security concerns and answering the problem with a safety product expert.”

According to Hawkins, "People are buying safety products because it's something that everyone truly needs. No matter how much money or how little money you have, how famous you are or aren't, or whether you are white collar or blue collar, big town or small, you are concerned about staying safe."

In business since 1995, Hawkins states that the trend this year has been the Auto Escape Tool/Hammer ($10.95), a device used to help people escape cars in an emergency with a glass break (breaks windows, even under water), seatbelt cutter and flashlight. "We have already sold tons of them, but sales were up before the Holidays. They address a concern people have when driving. Every car should have one."

Another top-seller has been the Invisible Ink Pens ($10.95), a pen that allows you to mark your valuables with invisible ink. If the marked item is stolen and later recovered, the owner can prove that the item is theirs by shining a UV Light (included) to reveal the identifying writing. Hawkins states that she has sold the pens to colleges, computer businesses, even a television producer who used it in an educational segment, a therapist for the hard of hearing, and home and business owners who want to mark their valuables.
