Ballet in Cleveland and New York City Dance Company Ballets with a Twist Hold Master Class at PlayhouseSquare's Gund Dance Studio

Put on your dancing shoes, Cleveland. In celebration of its debut at the Ohio Theatre, New York City's Ballets with a Twist will hold master classes for young dancers on Sunday, September 15th at PlayhouseSquare's Gund Dance Studio (1375 Euclid Avenue). The classes, sponsored by Ballet in Cleveland, will be led by company soloist Dorothea Garland. The schedule is as follows:
Children ages 6 to 12 should have some background in classical ballet. Dancers ages 13 and above should demonstrate an advanced beginning to intermediate level of ballet training.
Participants will enjoy an engaging classroom experience designed to deepen understanding and strengthen execution of classical ballet technique. At the end of each session, students will receive commemorative photos autographed by company members.
New York City's Ballets with a Twist is taking the states by storm with its glamorous mix of critically-acclaimed choreography, original music, and exquisite costume design. Under the direction of celebrated dance-maker Marilyn Klaus, the company is inventing a new genre of artistic entertainment, serving up classical ballet with an irreverent pop sensibility.
