APPLEWOOD ACRES LAUNCHES NEW AND COMPETITIVE CANADIAN LANDSCAPING BUSINESS GROUP – “APPLEWOOD STONEWORKS”

Toronto, CANADA- Applewood Acres Gardening & Landscaping/Lawn Care in a news interview with the Mississauga News announced late last week the launch of its landscaping business group “Applewood Stoneworks” which specializes in stone masonry construction projects for both residential and commercial clients in and around the Toronto area.

Richard Brzakala, owner of Applewood Acres Gardening, will in the coming new year be wearing two company hat’s as he will be splitting his responsibilities between the two business ventures. Brzakala states that “the landscaping business is a natural evolution in our business strategies and how we intend on evolving as a competitive company. It made sense for us to divide our businesses and focus our attention separately, as most of our clientele require two very different services.

As Director of Business Sales and Marketing, Brzakala described the new business division of the parent company as utilizing a “traditional methodology” whereby “old-world stone construction techniques” are used with only the best of what mother nature has provided. Commenting on the type of service Applewood Stoneworks provides, Brzakala states that “we provide our clients with exceptional traditional stone masonry and softscaping construction services, using old world techniques and craftsmanship.”

Brzakala states that “our projects utilize what mother nature has provided in abundance in all types of colours, shapes and sizes. We price our work according to the clients budget. We are upfront about the level of detail and workmanship involved. It is in every case detailed work that requires not only time and labour, but attention to detail. After all, our clients will be the one’s who enjoy our workmanship for years to come, so it makes sense to take our time, pay attention to detail and do it right. We take pride in every project we undertake” says Brzakala.

Applewood Stoneworks’s reputation has grown very quickly as a reputable stone crafting company in the western part of the city. It is not surprising to Brzakala that many of the projects they receive are a direct result of referrals from the loyal gardening clients they enjoy from their other successful business venture Applewood Acres Gardening & Lawn Care- one of only a handful of organic lawn care and gardening businesses in the entire Toronto area!

“Our gardening clients were always asking us about landscaping advise and what to do in their gardens or pool areas. They liked our ideas and project work, as well as how we priced our work”, says Brzakala.

But many of Applewood Stoneworks’ clients are also new and independent of their gardening business. “These clients know exactly what they want, and expect great work at reasonable prices”, says Brzakala.

“It was not difficult to make the leap from gardening and lawn maintenance to small landscaping and later larger stone construction projects comments Brzakala.

Brzakala’s focus is definitely on the future as he hopes to expand his company and workforce to help him keep up with his project line up. The coming new year is promising to bring many new challenges, as the projects are increasing in scope and dimension to include other areas of landscaping design such as ‘dry riverbed’ construction and old cedar fence reconstruction projects.

To help him with the contracts and project line ups in 2006, Brzakala states that “we are looking to leverage on the Summer Career Placements (SCP) initiative of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) “Hire A Student” campaign sponsored by the federal government.

Exactly how many people he intends on hiring, Brzakala is not yet certain but states that, “ depending on our clients timetable and future demand we probably will be looking for a minimum of two or three keen students from the Mississauga and Etobicoke municipalities of Toronto.

The prospects for Applewood Stoneworks look very promising as Brzakala looks to the new year. “We have a number of projects already lined up in various parts of Toronto. It’s our clients and their design ideas what keep it both challenging and interesting for me”, says Brzakala, as he looks forward to a promising new year.
