China Supply Chain & Logistics Awards Announced During the CHaINA Summit 2005

Shanghai, China - Over 120 supply chain and logistics professionals gathered at the prestigious China Supply Chain & Logistics Awards to give recognition and compliments to five winners at the Gala event. The dinner was taking place during the first annual CHaINA Summit that included multiple concurrent conferences, trainings and workshops and a mini trade show and was attended by over 300 delegates.

For the first time in China, manufacturing companies and individuals were recognized for their excellent achievements in logistics & supply chain management. As a neutral and independent organization, the China Supply Chain Council ensures that nominations were made in a totally commercial-free and objective environment.

The standards were high. The judging process brought together a panel of senior supply chain professionals and experts from the China Supply Chain Council. In the demanding and exhausting process of pursuing excellence, every one of the fifteen short listed companies were visited and assessed.

The Award for China's Supply Chain Executive of the Year went to Vincent Chang, Senior Materials & MIS Manager, Singer (Shanghai) Sewing Machine Co. Ltd. for his VMI project and other supply chain initiatives in their operations in China.

The Award for Best Supply Chain Consulting Partner in China was awarded to Accenture China who has shown excellence in developing and delivering supply chain expertise and consulting services for their client UTStarcom in China.

The award for the Best 3PL Supply Chain solution in China was presented to Sinotrans who has made significant achievement in the transport of tires for Michelin within China.

The Best Supply Chain IT Solution or Software was given to Oracle China who has delivered significant value in the implementation of supply chain solutions for the Beijing-based ChangAn Automotive Group.

Ikea Distribution received the top Supply Chain Operational Excellence Award for the launch of its largest distribution center in China. Build in three phases, the phase 1 was completed in September 2005 and boasts a storage capacity of 200,000 m³ and Automated Storage Retrieval Systems (ASRS).
