Meridian Business Support Director Elected to Join REC Council

Jeanette Barrowcliffe, Finance Director at national recruitment specialist Meridian Business Support, has been announced as a Corporate Director for the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).

Jeanette was formally elected at the confederation's annual general meeting, having been voted into the position by her fellow corporate members. Jeanette was up against 13 other candidates for one of five positions, Jeanette's successful campaign championed fair play within the recruitment industry. In her capacity as Corporate Director, Jeanette plans to assist the REC in scrutinising legislation and compliance issues.

Jeanette says: "I would like to thank everyone who voted and supported my application. I am absolutely delighted to have been selected for this important role by the REC's members, who clearly share my passion for improving standards within the industry and enhancing the image recruitment has within the wider business world. I am eager for the opportunity to use my knowledge and experience to make a real difference.

My involvement with Meridian Business Support, which has long championed an ethical, strategic approach to recruitment, will stand me in good stead as we begin working towards this goal. I'm greatly looking forward to the coming weeks and months and relishing the responsibility".

Since joining Meridian in 1997, Jeanette has led the business in tackling controversial issues such as tax avoidance schemes and other issues affecting the recruitment industry such as Pensions Reform and Agency Workers Regulations (AWR), and, as a champion of fair play within the industry, is often requested to provide expert commentary on such matters within the national media.
