June 26, 2013 - HERMOSA BEACH, CA - In an ongoing effort to promote constructive dialogue and to offer transparency in consideration of the Hermosa Beach Oil Recovery Project, E&B Natural Resources has announced the continuation of their on-going "Did You Know?" informational advertisement series. The third installment of the series was just released on June 13th. The informational series aims to not simply outline fiscal benefits or promote a specific agenda, but to instead provide a clear picture regarding facts related to the overall plan to access known oil reserves within the jurisdiction of Hermosa Beach from a single, onshore location by utilizing the latest technology and operational advancements in oil recovery, including environmentally safe directional drilling. For E&B, alerting the public to the realities of the project, given the many misconceptions about what the oil recovery efforts will entail, is critical. In short, E&B hopes these ads will help continue to foster dialogue with citizens and the community-at-large so that questions will be accurately answered.

"In the first ad, we provided a basic overview of the E&B Natural Resources oil recovery project," explains Tiffany Rau, Public Communications Manager for E&B Natural Resources in Hermosa Beach. "Many people don't realize that there will be no drilling rigs on the horizon, no pumpjacks, no disruption of the beach or tidelands — in fact, there will be virtually no sight and minimal sound of well drilling or oil processing operations ," she says.
In the second ad, several financial benefits of the Hermosa Beach Oil Project are highlighted. For example, with voter approval and full implementation of E&B's proposed oil recovery project, the City of Hermosa Beach will gain an estimated $519 million in new revenue for city services and community improvement, according to a recent independent economic study.
The third ad explains that in building the facility, the people of the city should not expect huge displays of equipment or endless hours of drilling noises. On the contrary, all equipment will be housed away from public view and there will be no drilling from offshore and no offshore drilling platforms. Additionally, construction traffic will be limited, with a maximum of 18 heavy truck trips per day, permitted only between the hours of 9am to 3pm, Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
E&B Natural Resources is a California-based independent oil and gas company. Established in 1971, E&B started out focusing on production in and around the Bakersfield, Ca Area. Today, E&B has grown to expand drilling and production operations in five different states – California, Louisiana, Wyoming, Kansas and Texas, all while continuing to strive towards profitability, value creation and safety.
