The scholarship recognizes undergraduate students who the company feels effectively embrace their cultural heritage. CEO James Miller opened the DutchCrafters Amish Furniture Heritage Scholarship to all undergraduate students in 2012, with no requirements for field of study or religious background. The scholarship is designed to help students celebrate their cultural heritage and commit to building a solid academic foundation to improve themselves and their communities.The $500 private scholarship will be awarded to five students for the 2013-14 academic year, dispersed in two increments of $250. Applicants are required to submit a 750-word essay that explains how they intend to apply their cultural heritage towards successfully bettering themselves and the world.
