The Tide Is Turning Against Robocallers and Phone Abusers

DAIR Computer Systems announces the launch of its DairTel Phone Call Dispatch Service. Underlying the innovative DairTel service, in development since July 2012, is a cloud-based mechanism, similar to one of the awarded co-first prize in the recent FTC $50,000 Robocall Challenge. The FTC's choice of this technology from nearly 800 entrants points to its viability and promised effectiveness against illegal robocallers.

The DairTel service provides control over when incoming calls may be received, and from whom. For example, during office hours, users may be open to receiving calls from business associates. However, over the weekend, they may choose to shunt such calls to auto answer. A complete phone filtering solution includes emphasizing calls users do want to receive, not just de-emphasizing calls they prefer to avoid.

DairTel employs wildcards in telephone numbers to filter out hundreds of rotating caller ID's that may be used by a single telemarketing organization. Most technologies are overwhelmed by this kind of telemarketing barrage of calls, but DairTel solves the issue with a slight modification to the telephone number entry. Occasional incoming phone calls from numbers not entered into an existing contacts list may be added to a call list with two clicks after hitting a one-click log-in icon.

In order to manage incoming calls with Caller ID blocked or from unknown callers, DairTel allows the option to issue a challenge which must be correctly answered before a call is rung through.
