MV Transportation Selected to Continue Operation of WCCTA Transit Services

DALLAS (April 10, 2013) – Today, MV Transportation, Inc., announced it has been selected to continue operation of the fixed route and paratransit bus services for the Western Contra Costa Transit Authority (WCCTA) based in Pinole, California. This award represents MV's third term as WCCTA's transit provider.

The new contract term begins July 1, 2013 and will extend four base years with three (3) one-year renewal options. Under the terms of the contract, MV will continue to manage daily operations and vehicle maintenance, and will utilize new automated reporting tools and other technologies in an effort to continuously seek opportunities to further improve performance and customer service. The services will be provided with a client-furnished fleet of 56 vehicles. MV will employ approximately 85 professional operators and staff to run the transit operation.

MV has managed the Pinole-based transit service since 2000 and has built a strong partnership with WCCTA. Together, MV and WCCTA have instituted a number of initiatives to improve safety, efficiency and customer service, including the implementation of automated scheduling and an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) system. In addition, WCCTA and MV have supported the local community through numerous joint volunteer and charitable initiatives which MV plans to continue during the new contract term, such as food and clothing drives, donations to local shelters and rescue missions, and supporting local senior centers.
