"The Days of Sunshine," a new book by Edmund R. Johnson, has been released by RoseDog Books.

"The Days of Sunshine" is a collection of stories about a young boy growing up in rural Georgia and the special relationship he shares with his grandparents.

Taking place in a time before electricity and on the cusp of a new age, the author recounts memories in his life from the mid-1940s through the mid-1950s. These stories tell of the unique bond that is formed between grandparents and grandchildren. The young boy is allowed to roam, without fear, and explore all the woods, fields, and streams of the countryside.

The boy's young life was pure Americana, a blending of the nineteenth century and the twentieth century. It was a time of sunny days and adventure, a time of bare feet and fishing trips, and a time of exploration and learning. But, most of all, it was a time of excitement and fun.

The book is very informative about rural Georgia, the people who lived in that time and place, and the experiences that molded their lives.

About the Author:
Edmund Johnson is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a BBA in Business Administration. He is married and has two children and four grandchildren.

Edmund was born on his grandparents' farm in 1942. This was a unique time and place to witness the clashing of a passing age and a new age.

Edmund's mother was away teaching school, and his father was in the service at this time of World War II. Edmund's first memories of life were of his beloved grandparents, from whom he learned to appreciate the wisdom of age and the beauty of nature.

On his deathbed, Edmund's grandfather requested that Edmund be a writer or a preacher. This unfulfilled promise to his grandfather's request weighed upon Edmund.

Therefore, he penned The Days of Sunshine to fulfill that promise and to benefit his own I grandchildren from his experiences. Through this collection of stories, Edmund hopes to pass on to his family the wonderful memories of his time with his grandparents and the love they shared.

"The Days of Sunshine" is a 50-page hardback with a retail price of $11.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4349-7337-5.
