Oil & gas salaries set to increase for contract professionals

The salaries of contract professionals in the oil and gas market are set to increase by up to 5.8%, according to the latest Global Salary Survey from specialist recruitment consultancy Robert Walters.The survey found that the biggest increases in the contract space are expected for geologists at up to 5.8%, cost engineers at up to 4.4%, and cementing field supervisors at up to 3.5%.
Darren Richards, Robert Walters manager of oil and gas recruitment explains, "The increased demand for contract personnel can be attributed in part to organisations investing in shorter term projects, and the need to compensate for the cessation of the Living Away From Home Allowance. As several key projects enter construction phase in 2013, the oil and gas contract market is expected to stay strong."
