Banking and finance salaries set to increase despite slow 2012

The salaries of banking and finance professionals are set to increases in 2013, despite pockets of market uncertainty, according to the latest Global Salary Survey from specialist recruitment consultancy Robert Walters.The survey found the biggest increases are expected for management accountants of up to 12%, compliance analysts of up to 10%, and underwriters of up to 9%.
Andrew Hanson, Robert Walters Sydney director of finance recruitment explains, "Despite a slightly shaky global economy, the local banking and financial services recruitment market performed relatively well in 2012. The major focus was on building strong teams that could generate revenue within functions such as wealth management, investments, and superannuation. We expect the demand for experienced professionals to continue through 2013, with organisations recruiting quality over quantity, and willing to pay a premium for those key professionals that can positively impact the business."
