Senior accounting professionals to receive biggest salary increases in 2013

Salary uplifts are expected in the senior end of the accounting and finance market in 2013, according to the latest Global Salary Survey from specialist recruitment consultancy Robert Walters.The survey found that finance directors are expected to receive increases of up to 10%, finance managers up to 4%, CFOs up to 16% and financial controllers up to 10% in 2013.
Bradley Shotland, Robert Walters Director of commerce Sydney explains, "The majority of senior accountants haven't received salary rises for the last few years, and some packages have even gone backwards. Some cautious optimism in the market has resulted in strong salary increases for senior professionals with specialist skills. This demonstrates organisations are once again willing to invest in good talent that can drive teams, increase revenue and contribute to strategic direction.
Due to this increased competition for top talent, both organisations and candidates will need to be flexible when looking for new opportunities and employers will need to continue improving their benefits packages to attract new talent."
