Breakthrough disk performance technology from Diskeeper Corporation

East Grinstead, West Sussex—Last month Diskeeper Corporation, the manufacturers of the number one automatic defragmenter, Diskeeper®, announced the development of their brand new storage performance technology, I-FAAST™ (Intelligent File Access Acceleration Sequencing Technology).

I-FAAST improves file access and creation on NTFS volumes by up to 80% (average 10%-20%) above and beyond the improvement provided by defragmentation alone. This is the first industry implementation of "Disk Performance Calibration", the modern evolution of the outdated and inconclusive disk optimization strategies of the past.

The mistake made in earlier attempts to optimize disk performance was to guess that the fastest part of the disk was the outside rim. This simplistic approach failed to deliver the expected results and in-fact was as likely to impede performance as to improve it. I-FAAST locates the regions of the disk that have the best performance characteristics for that individual volume and deploys files to these areas maximizing the potential I/O.

Diskeeper Corporation is not yet ready to announce if I-FAAST will be a new product offering or if it will fit into their existing product line.
