BOCA RATON, FL – Sucree Magazine, a new online consumer publication, provides readers with a fresh source for sweets in the news, views, sweet recipes, stories, products, people and places. From indulgent chocolate treats to balsamic splashed pears Sucree Magazine delivers a digital sweet life. Editor Donna Liotto-Scocozza loves magazines and has a solid track record editing them. She is a former executive food editor of First Magazine, a food editor for Woman's World magazine and an associate food editor for Weight Watchers Magazine. She also served as director of Appliances and Microwave Cooking for Good Housekeeping Magazine/Institute.
Donna and her small band of culinarians are passionate about all aspects of food, but dedicate each issue of Sucree exclusively to sweets. "I have a deep swooning love of everything sweet," admits Liotto-Scocozza. "The idea for a digital publication on sweets had been simmering for some time, but I remember exactly when I made the decision to launch and there was no turning back. I was enjoying a glass of wine in Chicago's Four Season Hotel Fireside Lounge, while attending the International Housewares Show, when the ideas for a magazine devoted to sweets just kept flowing and wouldn't stop."
In no time at all Donna had a list of departments for her new publication including: Sweet Nostalgia, which recalls moments from the past involving sweets that have lingered through the years. Another department, Sweet, Sweeter, and Sweetest takes one ingredient and provides recipes that earn those accolades. The department Sweet Read, is a book review with a recipe created from a literary food reference in the book. Sweet Events updates readers on new books and happenings in the culinary world. Readers will also enjoy Sweet Spot, a café or restaurant review.
Reflecting back on the time when the magazine format came together, Donna says, "It was one of those moments when you just know the idea is right and you become its champion. Who doesn't love sugar? Whether it is brown, granulated, powdered, agave syrup, the complete range of honey, or natural fruit sugar, we look forward to a little sweet treat to get us through the day and through life."
