Dallas Author Publishes New Book

"The Struggles of a Black Woman," a new book by Brenda Hood, has been released by RoseDog Books.

Growing up as a child, Brenda Hood did not know she would become the black sheep of her family. Although she had eight other siblings in her family-seven sisters and one brother-she felt as if she were Cinderella with the mean stepsisters and mother. She loved her family with all her heart and tried all she could to please her sisters, brother, and mother. With the exception of her father and her sister Diana, Brenda grew to hate her family. It got so bad to the point of her questioning herself and God about her family. Did she really belong to this family?

She struggled to be accepted by her own, she struggled with her children, and she struggled with life all together, until she finally realized she needed to do something about it. She was determined to stop the struggles and heartaches with faith and compassion to not give up.

About the Author
Brenda K. Hood was born in Dallas, Texas, and still lives there today. She is a mother of five, grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother of two.

This book was inspired by her life and the things she went through growing up. Her story reveals pain, disbelief, and betrayal. And even though it seemed like the odds were against her at all times, through God she overcame all her obstacles. She encourages people to trust in, believe in, and listen for God.
