BORNACK's Unique "SAFE LINK SSB®" Smart Safety Belay System Wins International Award, Best Product of 2012

Recognized for bringing innovation and increased safety to the ropes course industry, the SAFE LINK SSB®, (Smart Safety Belay) by BORNACK GmbH & Co. KG, located in Heilbronn, Germany, has won the "Best Product of 2012" Award from the European IAPA (International Adventure Park Association) as well as the French Association SNEPA and the Spanish Association, AEPA.

The Safe Link SSB® is used in many aerial adventure parks throughout the United States as well as Europe as a means for increased climbing safety. Its unique double-connected carabiners (safety clips) help assure climbers that they are always connected to a safety line as they progress throughout a ropes course. It is an "intelligent belay system" because the two carabiners, which are attached to a climber's safety harness, are interconnected with each other in such a way as to help prevent the climber from inadvertently removing both carabiners at the same time. The climber is always locked on.

How it works

The SAFE LINK SSB® uses a "key & lock" system which only allows the participant to attach at a pre-designated point where a "TWEEZLE®" (the key) has been installed.

In addition to the safety advantages of having the participant always attached, with the use of the TWEEZLE®, the SSB does not allow them to attach onto anything that is not designated as a safety line. The system allows the course operator to direct the participant exactly where they want them to go and discharge them at designated spots.

By installing TWEEZLES® on existing safety lines, ropes courses can be retrofitted for SSB use with very little modifications.
