PRESS RELEASE Future Entrepreneurs’ Workshop
Pasadena, Nov 16th, 2005 – Southern California Monte Jade Association (SCMJ), together with Caltech Entrepreneurs Club, announced a full day event called “Future Entrepreneurs’ Workshop”, which will be held at Caltech Beckman Institute Auditorium on Saturday, November 19. The annual Future Entrepreneurs’ Workshop has always been an important program offered by Southern California Monte Jade, a non profit organization that fosters entrepreneurship and exchange of information and knowledge in technology and investment areas. This is the first time it co-organizes such event with Caltech Entrepreneurs Club. This one day event will feature two themes: Emerging Business Opportunities, Development and Challenges in mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong and Path towards entrepreneurship - the Choice, Experience and Vision. Daniel Shih, the Chairman of SCMJ says, the new post-baby boomer generation is faced with better, but more competitive business environment, and therefore tends to have more of a global vision. This program, together with other programs such as SCMJ scholarships and mentoring programs, will help young entrepreneurs to understand today’s emerging business trends and better equip themselves to survive and thrive in this competitive world.
In recent years, China has enjoyed unprecedented economic growth and has become the world’s dominant engine of economic changes. SCMJ feels that this topic is a very intriguing one for a number of different reasons, says Christine Xu, one of the organizers for the event, “China is a threat and opportunity or both to many people. It has significant impact on the global economy and is definitely worth investigating from different perspectives. China offers many opportunities as well as challenges. As a future entrepreneur, it is important to gain exposure to the important issues faced with doing business with and in China.”
The workshop chair Lou Chang introduced the speakers and format of the event. He said, “we have invited 6 experts to have an engaging and interactive discussion on the emerging business opportunities, development and challenges in mainland China , Taiwan and Hong Kong in the morning. While in the afternoon, we have 4 prominent speakers to address Path towards entrepreneurship - the Choice, Experience and Vision”
