Are K-12 Parochial School Parents Ready To Make Mobile Payments? Smart Tuition Bets Heavily That They Are

October 13, 2012, Woodbridge, NJ – Smart Tuition has announced its release of the first Apple-approved iPhone app for the tuition management industry. Smart Tuition has consistently set the industry's pace for innovations serving the financial side of non-public schools.

Juniper Research in August predicted that mobile transactions will rise nearly fourfold over the next five years to more than $1.3 trillion. Deloitte recently put that number even higher at $2.45 trillion by 2015.

Jordan Schwartz, Vice President of Development added, "Phones have become an every day part of our life, many people consider them an extension of themselves. Our goal was to reach parents and continue to raise the priority of tuition payments by raising the number of options parents have."

In addition to the mobile app, Smart Tuition released the beta version of its text messaging alert system. Parents at the over 2,500 Smart Tuition schools now can electively add free-of-charge text alerts before debits, alert them of due dates approaching, and link to payment options directly from the text messages generated by the company.

Apple this year announced that there has been 25 billion downloads from the popular iTunes store. They also said there are over 688,000 apps currently available for download. Of those there are currently 71,000 in the Education section.
