11/10/2005To the average independent music artist a budget to create a project usually consists of determining
how much of their disposable income they can afford to use. Not Jewelz, born Kurt Richardson. This Lansing, MI
native who now resides in Detroit has just been signed and been named partner to the Gymstar Muzik Group. Aside from the partnership Jewelz will recieve a $30,000.00 advance to
complete his debut project titled Undisputed: Based on 1,000,000 True
Stories.
GMG which also operates as Gymstar Entertainment has been a force in the entertainment industry since 1999. Gymstar Entertainment began as a promotion company that served as host to A list parties in the Miami, Fl and Atlanta, Ga areas. A chance meeting during a trip to NYC allowed Kurt Richardson to meet with the staff of Gymstar Muzik. After the relationship was forged it was determined that Mr. Richardson's influence in the Midwest region would help expand the company's horizons as well as open a new
door for the company, Rap Music.
Jewelz is no stranger to the music industry. He has appeared on
songs with underground legend Angelous, UMA Artist of the year
Papoose, as well as performed as the opening act for everybody from T.I and Mobb Deep, to Fabolous, Mike Jones, Busta Rhymes and Mase to name a few. Jewelz has also established relationships with premier DJ's such as GreenLantern, Chicago’s DJ Kalendr,
Clinton Sparxx, LA’s Dj Dolla, and Kay Slay.
Paper work is currently underway for Jewelz as well as two other partners Michael Richardson (no relation) and one silent investor to establish a Michigan branch of the company. Aside
from the debut album, The Michigan branch will host several parties during the 2006 Super Bowl in Detroit, MI.
