Azrael, a new book by Andrew Woodcock, has been released by RoseDog Books.

Azrael is the story of two women targeted by the mysterious Master. They are guided separately through the initiation process into the black arts. Each is then unleashed upon an unsuspecting public, to wreak a trail of destruction in London. Initially, the women avenge the harsh treatment of the younger witch. Slowly, the Master reveals his true plan, and the killing spree begins in earnest. The hapless government and the diligent metropolitan police force employ increasingly desperate measures to stop the deaths, but the witches thwart their efforts.

A relentless and powerful ally comes to the aid of the government, claiming that he has the power to stop the witches. He seems to fail at first, but reveals that the witches intend to attack the Millennium Dome in a final act of terror. Cautioned and protected by the Master, the two witches plot their most audacious act. Can this project come to fruition? The slam-bang ending will reveal all. Laced with black humor and irreverence, Azrael will take the reader on a roller coaster journey of emotion and passion.

About the Author

Andrew Woodcock was born (it happens to most of us), in the industrial North of England. He wrote some “truly awful poetry” in the 1970s. For reasons unknown to him, a local magazine thought they were excellent and published all his work. This led him to believe that the Poet Laureate post was his for the taking. Youth is eternally arrogant. Woodcock won the most prestigious short story prize in the North of England in 1987. This was the Count Bartelli Literary Award, named after a famous wrestler and husband of a published author. He owes a debt of thanks to them both.

Woodcock moved with his family to live and work in London in 1991, where he still lives. He wrote Azrael in 2003, but the demands of family and work meant that it sat on the shelf until now. Andrew Woodcock hopes that you enjoy his work, but he says to be thankful that you do not have to live with such a dark imagination.

Azrael is a 334-page paperback with a retail price of $25.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4349-8834-8. It was published by RoseDog Books of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
