Miami Orthodontist Celebrates 40 Years In Practice, New Orthodontic Associate

MIAMI, FLORIDA - Dr. Phillip Kaner is celebrating more this year than just his 40th anniversary as a Miami orthodontist at 9125 SW 87th Ave. He is also welcoming a new orthodontic associate, Dr. Pedro Alquizar.

"Dr. Alquizar and I are working together to provide the best treatment possible, anywhere, for our patients," said Kaner.

He knew he wanted to partner with Alquizar after seeing his excellent clinical skills and friendly and energetic personality. He welcomed him to the practice in March.

"This is a great opportunity to learn from the most admired and respected orthodontist in the community," Alquizar exclaimed. "He has been mentoring me for many years already, and it was just the thing to do for me. I am truly lucky to be learning from him."

The orthodontists are in the process of making a few updates to the office space, adding the latest orthodontic technologies and redesigning of the practice's website. They said they have enjoyed discussing difficult cases and getting differing opinions on treatment plans to provide patients with great results.

Alquizar brought some of the newer orthodontic technology with him, including all-digital radiography, soft-tissue laser treatment and temporary anchorage devices, commonly referred to as TADs or microscrews. They offer all types of orthodontic treatment options, including traditional metal dental braces, clear ceramic braces, In-Ovation braces and invisible braces, such as Invisalign, Invisalign Teen and Clear Correct.

"We are dedicated to exceeding patients' expectations and improving the care and service we offer at the practice," said Kaner.

Alquizar earned his Doctor in Dental Medicine from Temple University and completed orthodontic specialty training at Harvard University. He specialized in orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic treatment for children and adults. After working as a general dentist for the U.S. Department of Labor in Massachusetts, he moved to Miami to open up a private practice and later joined Kaner's practice.

"I am excited to be working with Dr. Alquizar and expect to continue to treat our deserving patients for years to come," Kaner said.
