M2M Developer Suite boosts M2M application development
ANYWARE TECHNOLOGIES SA, the expert in web-based software solutions, is launching M2M DEVELOPER SUITE, the industry’s first development tool specifically designed for the Machine-to-Machine (M2M) market.

Designed for M2M application developers, the product is a software development environment for the creation of end-to-end M2M applications. It facilitates and accelerates the development of complete M2M systems, from the embedded client to the server application, resulting in a faster time-to-market, a more valuable final solution, and a more rapid return-on-investment for machine manufacturers or service providers implementing an M2M solution.
With M2M Developer Suite, creating an application involving machines remotely monitored and controlled through a wireless network can typically be achieved twice faster than with any traditional development tool.

According to analysts, the number of M2M-connected equipments and objects should experience a strong acceleration in the coming years moving from a current 40% to more than 100% annual growth from 2008.

An all-inclusive product for an end-to-end M2M solution
Based on Eclipse, a popular and widely recognized development framework, the product allows a complete application to be described and its parameters to be set via a simple graphical user interface. From this logical description M2M Developer Suite is capable of automatically generating the code of the application both on the client and server sides. The client part relies on a programmable wireless module embedded in the machine, and typically available from companies like Siemens WM, Wavecom, Sony-Ericsson, Sagem…
The generated source code is available and open for further customization. Advanced users can then freely modify the application to add specific processing or features.

The product comes as an integrated suite comprising two development studios: Device Connection Studio, for the design and generation of the M2M software running in the embedded communication module and Server Application Studio, for the development and generation of the central web application performing the remote machine monitoring and control.
It also includes Communication Manager, a tool to monitor the changing IP addresses experienced when using GPRS. Acting as a dynamic DNS, it ensures the remote devices can permanently be reached by the central application.

Key features of the product include: generation of an end-to-end solution including the links to the IT system ; wizards for creating data models and defining the application elements and applicative logic via a graphical interface ; a configuration assistant to setup the communication management (including fallback) ; automatic generation of optimized code for a target platform (java or native) ; a set of ready-to-use application components: embedded web server, library of industry protocols (like Modbus), application templates, user-interface templates, widgets ; data compression to minimize cellular traffic.
Optional plugins are also available with the product to perform testing, fine-tuning and fine-monitoring of the final solution.
M2M Developer Suite supports the leading wireless M2M modules of the market.

The product will be commercially available in Q4 2005 and is already under beta evaluation with key customers.
