BK Grang Crowned New World Backyard Wrestling Champion, Recognized on Five Continents as World’s Number-One Wrestler

The 5’10’’, 180lb Grang defeated Iggy Gonzales in a 28-minute war at ‘HELLoween’ in Grang’s hometown of Lubbock, Texas. Grang scored the pinfall after executing his signature move - a double underhook piledriver dubbed the “N.F.N.R.”

The match was scheduled to be a triple threat match involving former champion Mark Priebe, who had won the title in August. However, when Priebe was unable to arrive due to travel problems, officials had no choice but to strip him of the title and award it to the winner of the Grang-Gonzales match. In addition, the title match was not filmed (as the cameras were to have traveled with Mr. Priebe).

Grang is the first Texan to ever hold the World Backyard Wrestling Championship, whose origins stretch back to 1971. Backyard wrestling legends like Super Slayer, Shawn “Crusher” Crossen, Robert Poole, “Awesome” Jimmy Austin, and Suicidal Youth have all held this title over its three decades of existence. The current custodian of the championship is National Championship Wrestling, the world’s largest backyard wrestling organization.
