RotaDyne 2011 Safety – Second best year on record
February 10, 2012 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
RotaDyne completed 2011 as one of the best safety-related years on record, with top results across multiple safety metrics.CEO Tom Gilson states "RotaDyne's outstanding safety performance reflects our continuing commitment to safety in the workplace. Our quantifiable results are significantly below the national average for manufacturing, highlighting the superior quality of our manufacturing personnel. I would like to personally extend my appreciation and gratitude to all our factories for this achievement, especially those locations that achieved zero injuries in 2011."
The overall Recordable Injury and Illness Rate (RIIR) was 2.15 per 100 employees, a result less than 50% of the 4.40 RIIR average for all US manufacturing. This is a result of only 13 total accidents last year, and the second lowest total on record for RotaDyne.
Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred (DART) is a severity measure and counts only accidents that resulted in missed workdays, job transfer, or work restriction. In 2011 we also achieved a DART of 1.75, less than 75% of the overall US manufacturing average DART of 2.4. This is the 3rd lowest ever recorded at RotaDyne.
Finally, costs for 2011 were the 3rd lowest recorded for one year; a particularly impressive number given the increasing costs of healthcare in recent years. All of these bottom line numbers are the direct result of our proactive safety efforts including training, audits and contacts. Those key measures came in at 97% of goal; the best year on record.
This continues a steadily improving trend, particularly over the last three years. Please congratulate all involved in this impressive year.
Of particular note, the following plants completed 2011 with no accidents. Included are the total years worked at these plants with no accidents.
