Art lovers have until Friday March 23rd to visit Madrid for The Hermitage in the Prado exhibition.Featuring roughly 170 works on loan from the St Petersburg State Hermitage Museum, the display forms part of a cultural exchange programme between the Russian institution and its Spanish counterpart.
The exhibition, which opened in November 2011, aims to showcase the diversity of the Hermitage collection.
People heading to the Museo Nacional del Prado can expect to see works by Titian, Caravaggio, Velazquez and Rembrandt, as well as Gauguin, Monet and Cezanne.
Sculptures by the likes of Bernini and Antonio Canova are also represented, along with significant archaeological objects and drawings from Durer, Ingres and Rubens.
Tickets for the exhibition are priced at €12 (£10), or €19.50 with a guide. The gallery can be visited between 10:00 and 20:00 local time Monday to Saturday, while Sunday opening hours run from 10:00 to 21:00.
The Prado recently decided to open every day of the week in response to increased visitor numbers since 2007, when the museum's £100 million extension opened to the public.
