Malaysia's Resorts World Genting will be playing host to Doraemon World 2012, a show dedicated to Japanese animation icon Doraemon, from January 23rd.
 
The event takes place at the Arena of Stars and runs until February 5th, with the celebration marking the 100-year pre-anniversary of the fictional birth of the friendly robotic blue cat, who is said to have been created in 2112.
 
Doraemon's adventures with his schoolboy friend Nobita date back to 1969 and have seen thousands of comic adventures being written, as well as dozens of animated films and endless merchandise produced.
 
At Doraemon World 2012, fans can visit a real-life recreation of the stories' Nerima City, where they can meet and take photos with their favourite characters.
 
Themed carnival games, food items and art events will also be provided to delight kids and adults alike, while plenty of Doraemon souvenirs can be purchased by guests.
 
One-day open passes for any day of the event can be purchased for 45 ringgits (£9.40), while tickets for specific days cost 35 ringgits for adults and 30 ringgits for children.
