For Simply Devine Décor, a Dallas/East Texas interior decorating service, preparation for the holiday season easily consumes over half of the year in addition to decorating. But this year a little touch of celebrity and fame added to an already hectic schedule with an invitation to work with memory maker, Hallmark. Using a series of short video vignettes, Hallmark teamed up with entertaining /decorating expert David Tutera, and chef/author Jaden Hair to share holiday ideas and tips with singer/songwriter Jewel at her Texas studio home."When an opportunity such as this comes around, no matter what you're doing, you rearrange your schedule to make it work," said owner Jackie Devine. With an already full plate, Devine toggled between setting up a large selection of home accessories and holiday decorations showcased during East Texas' Canton Trade Days with managing holiday decorations for Courtyard and SpringHill Suites hotels nationwide.
It was the premise of the video vignettes that really captured her interest, that of creating memories. "My contribution was to decorate the set of Jewel's studio home in festive décor," Devine said. That's easier said than done for most, but for a seasoned decorator, Devine set her goals to combine nostalgic touches with décor that anyone could easily attain. The vignettes feature her Christmas tree, fireplace mantle, and kitchen holiday décor.
As families around the world embark on their own memories, Devine agreed with the messaging from Hallmark that there are opportunities throughout the entire holiday season to make special moments, as well as honor and create new traditions.
