The Royal Langkawi International Regatta will be taking place in Malaysia for the tenth consecutive year in 2012.

This year will be the first time the event has been officially recognised as a grade three championship by the International Sailing Federation and will help to solidify Langkawi's status as a leading tourist destination.
 
Teams will be competing for a chance to win a variety of different titles, including the Prime Minister's Challenge Trophy for internationally-registered yachts, the Commodore's Challenge Cup for club-registered cruisers and the Langkawi Sports Trophy for sports boats.
 
Additionally, an accolade called the Tunku Abdullah Sportsmanship Award will be presented in honour of the late founding chairman of the RLYC.
 
Prospective participants can pay 550 ringgits (£112.50) to get involved, with a 200 ringgit surcharge for each additional team member.
 
A variety of vessels are available to charter for international visitors.
