Stephanie Sharp is a native of Arkansas, and she works as a buyer's agent for a realty company. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies from Texas A&M University, as well as a degree in writing for children and teenagers from the Charter Oak College Institute of Children's Literature. She has previously published a book called The Bird That Couldn't, a children's picture book. She was inspired to write The Ten Mile Creek by actual events that transpired in the life of someone very dear to her.
