The Last of the Neth, a new book by Wayne Norton, has been released by RoseDog Books.

The Last of the Neth is a story of a man who is trying to save the world and those he loves from destruction. As the last living member of an ancient race that is over 3000 years old and being closely related to humans, he has the unique ability to sense the emotions of all living things and to communicate with most of them. His world resembles earth in the middle ages, where humans engage in countless wars against each other and other races. Aside from humans, other creatures such as dragons, elves, dwarves and goblins live in this world, each with their own emotions and ways of life.

Although more than a match for any human warrior, the Neth does not consider himself a fighter and instead describes himself as a healer and nurturer of life. The Neth's world is now threatened by an invasion of the Vendi, a large force of murderous humans who destroy everything and everyone. After saving a woman named Amanda and her two children, he discovers the two children have dormant abilities, similar to those of his own race, and he decides to help them to develop these abilities. The boy, Alan, bonds with a young dragon named Keenan, while his sister, Tia, bonds with a young, female tiger named Tiki. Both children find joy in their new relationships, but they are also troubled by new responsibilities as their view and understanding of life grows.
