Tadelakt is in Fashion at Reiss

Westfield Stratford City, which opened in September 2011, is Europe's largest urban shopping mall http://uk.westfield.com/stratfordcity/ and it is situated next to the Olympic Park – to be part of such a high profile, exciting project was certainly a bonus for the Decor Tadelakt team. Reiss is a leading high street retailer and their new concept store in the Westfield Mall has received excellent feedback.

Tadelakt is a type of plaster that has its origins in Morocco; it is fashioned out of lime that is native to the Marrakech region and so was able to lend an exotic finish to the Reiss project. The plaster is both waterproof and decorative, making it very popular and ideal for a range of different purposes, including domestic and commercial uses, as well as interior and exterior walls.

It provides a seamless finish, which certainly adds to the visual appeal of the new Reiss store. This particular project also provided a chance to demonstrate what the plaster can do in projects that involve large applications. A representative from Décor Tadelakt said: 'We were thrilled to be involved in such a massive project. We typically apply our products to bathrooms, so it's an amazing showcase for our work as it's something that many thousands of people a week will see. We have already had lots of positive feedback about the work and we are very proud of the results.'

With so many people visiting the Reiss store on a regular basis, and with even more people coming to the shopping mall as a result of the adjacent Olympic Park, it seems safe to say that many thousands more people will soon be introduced to the unusual, attractive finish of Tadelakt. Combining traditional, high quality design with a modern, decorative edge, this is certainly a design triumph that looks set to benefit both the Reiss concept store and Décor Tadelakt.
