Huntington Beach, Calif.-October 25, 2005 — Quellent Technologies, a supplier of proprietary disposable absorptive pads and technologies, today announced the introduction of its DriPAD product line designed for use in human and animal healthcare. DriPADs are available in several configurations and sizes for each of its key customer groups: First Responders (EMS, Fire, Police, and Ambulance), Hospitals (ER, OR and Burn Care), Blood Banks, Laboratories, and Mortuaries. DriPADs are also ideal for Pet Care and Pet Transportation, and are used for Home Bedwetting and Incontinence Care."The DriPAD line of products provides healthcare professionals and consumers with a powerful tool to manage biological fluids such as blood, serum, urine, saline solutions and vomit,” said Craig Sundheimer, Quellent's Chief Business Officer. “They are constructed of super absorbent air-laid fibers, to which is added Quellent's proprietary iodine disinfectant system. The disposable pads will literally absorb liters of fluids, and then release a safe but highly biocidal dose of iodine into the fluid to dramatically reduce the pathogens in the pad core matrix.”
“DriPADs quickly remove potentially biohazardous fluids from the scene, and by reducing their bacterial and viral load, create a safer environment for patients, healthcare workers and the consumer. Compared to towels and other reusable absorbents, they are very cost effective.'' added Lloyd Jarvis, Quellent's CFO. "For example, hospital laundry costs are per pound. Since only one liter of water weighs over two pounds, those costs add up - but the real benefit of DriPADs is their ability to improve turn-around efficiency, reduce clean-up time and manage the mess and associated hazards of biofluids in the care environment.”
“DriPADs are applied at the source of the fluids and contain the biohazard mess immediately. This means our hospital customers can save time and money each time their staff uses a DriPAD - time that would have been spent cleaning floors or equipment - not to mention the added worker safety. When compared to other disposables available to institutions and consumers, there just is no product available that absorbs and disinfects like a DriPAD does,” said Jarvis
DriPADs are available via the company's website www.Quellent.com and through select distributors.
About Quellent Technologies
Quellent Technologies. is a private company that manufactures and sells, exclusively and under license, super absorbent anti-infective disposable pads and sheets in many configurations, shapes and sizes to consumers, municipalities and corporate partners. As a side benefit, the Quellent technology also reduces noxious odors during the decontamination process. These products are sold under the DriPAD trademark. Quellent is headquartered in Huntington Beach, CA, and its Customer Service Center is in Carlsbad, CA. The company is actively seeking distribution and licensing partners in its key customer markets.
