Planet Green Cartridges of Chatsworth, California (www.planetgreenrecycle.com) held an E-Waste event on September 16th and 17th at its Southern California offices. The event, which encouraged public donation of recyclable electronic waste, was organized to benefit the Rancho San Antonio Boys Home in Chatsworth, CA.Attendees donated old, used or empty inkjet cartridges, toners, cell phones, cameras, PDA's, iPods, MP3 players, Palm Pilots, GPS systems and other electronic waste. Planet Green not only recycles these items but also pays cash for donated E-Waste, sometimes as much as $6.50 for a used inkjet cartridge or $100 for a used cell phone!
E-Waste dollars are paid either directly to the contributing party or to a designated Non-Profit Foundation, School, Club, Organization or fundraising beneficiary. Any organization can sign-up with Planet Green via their website and start their own fundraising E-Waste drive. Planet Green provides a free organization-based micro-site, free promotional materials, free shipping labels, complete customer service support, real-time online accounting, and a 7-Day turnaround for payment.
Rancho San Antonio's September event brought in over $1000 in much needed cash. The California-based Boys Home offers rehabilitation services for adolescent youths through a balanced physical, social, spiritual, psychological and educational experience. Founded in 1933 by the Catholic Big Brothers, Rancho San Antonio offers a caring and therapeutic environment where young men can successfully develop the skills, values, and personal responsibility needed to rejoin their family and the community.
Through E-Waste Recycling, Planet Green has come up with a simple and environmentally-friendly solution to fuel national, local and community-based fund-raising efforts like the Rancho San Antonio Boys Home, and their cash donations are going up dramatically. If there ever was a "Win-Win" for beleaguered non-profit groups across the United States during these tough economic times … this would be it.
"We know how hard fundraising dollars are to come by in 2011, and we make a concerted effort to insure that every event is well organized," says Sean Levi President of Planet Green. "Our staff helped organize and promote the Boys Home fundraiser, and they were out there all weekend making sure it was a success."
Planet Green is a world leader of high quality, remanufactured inkjet cartridges and operates in Southern California. They pay out millions in fundraising dollars for donated inkjet cartridges, toners, cell phones and a variety of small electronics which they recycle each day.
