Box UK named as one of "Britain's Brightest Businesses" by The Telegraph
September 25, 2011 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Box UK (http://www.boxuk.com) has recently been included as one of "Britain's Brightest Businesses" in the Telegraph 1000; a list of 1000 companies that are continuing to grow and generate jobs during the tough economic climate (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/yourbusiness/8755546/Telegraph-1000-Britains-Brightest-Businesses.html)The Telegraph 1000 celebrates the "mid-sized companies which have weathered the economic storm and are set to be the foundation of the UK's recovery", and was compiled with the help of innovation agency NESTA, information specialists Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), and the opinion of more than a dozen membership organisations, Telegraph readers and peers. The list was compiled partly as a reaction to the recent overwhelming negative coverage of the economy, and to highlight the "untold story" of business success across the country. As the government is forced to make cuts across the public sector, the private sector is increasingly being looked to in order to bolster the economy by providing jobs and creating trade.
Roger Hodson, UK managing director at D&B said: "D&B is proud to be contributing to The Telegraph's initiative of identifying firms that are not just surviving, but thriving in the current economic climate. It is often too easy to concentrate on the negatives – increased business failures, reduced profits, weakened financial strength, lengthened payment terms – and forget that many companies in the UK have faced up to the challenges, and with nimble and brave thinking have put their businesses in a great position to seize the opportunities that exist out there."
The comprehensive list features companies across a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, retail, construction and tourism. Despite the increasing popularity and fast-moving nature of the digital sector, Box UK was joined by only one other web consultancy firm. This demonstrates the company's dedication to being seen as an industry leader, which is supported by a continued investment in innovation.
This investment has produced many tangible results, and being selected as one of 'Britain's Brightest Businesses' continues a highly successful year for Box UK. In July the company was recognised as an Investor in People, and gained an additional Bronze certification for going beyond the standards of organisational excellence. The work to attain this accreditation has also helped the company secure a finalist place as 'IT Employer of the Year' in the UK IT Industry Awards. More recently the company has received the ISO9001:2008 certification for demonstrating high quality management processes.
In response to the news, Box UK's Managing Director Benno Wasserstein said, "It's an incredible achievement to be included in the Telegraph 1000, and we're delighted by the news. At Box UK we are committed to building a reputation for excellence, and we have worked consistently to develop this, through investment in our team, our service offering and more. Being chosen by the Telegraph and leading industry bodies is a great recognition of our success."
