In her position, she will provide sales support to the company's existing customers as well as develop new marketing initiatives, including increasing the company's presence at tradeshows.
"We're happy to have Karen on board as we work to meet the global demand for our products," said Joel Florin, a co-owner of the company. "Just as the broader economy is gaining speed in recent months, our business is seeing strong growth, too."
Micro Essential Laboratory is a family-owned company that produces and distributes a range of products that are widely used throughout the scientific field as well as in the food service and health care industries. The company's suite of Hydrion products – including pH papers, pH test strips, pH chlorine dispenser, pH test kits, and others – are the most trusted products on the market today. They are used to test the pH of solutions as well as the efficiency of sanitizing solutions.
Founded in 1934 by Walter Florin, who was inspired to start the company when he was a member of Madison High School's microscope club, Micro Essential Laboratory, Inc. is now one of the leading suppliers of educational, industrial, medical, and personal pH test products, providing custom manufacturer of pH paper for individual consumers as well as Fortune 500 companies, such as Ecolab, Fisher Scientific, Diversey, 3M, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Proctor & Gamble.
The company's products are highly regarded. Its pHydrion pH test paper was used in a 1983 Space Shuttle mission in a battery of scientific tests. Custom calibrated color charts for each batch of test paper still ensure unsurpassed accuracy.
"Customer satisfaction has been the guiding value of our company since its inception," said Florin. "This means developing quality products that offer unsurpassed accuracy and providing unmatched technical assistance and customer service. As we look forward to the next 75 years, we will continue the tradition of introducing groundbreaking products and exceeding our customers' expectations."
Unlike its competitors, Micro Essential Laboratory's products are made in the United States. The company's main competitors are based in Europe.
"As a company, we take pride in the fact that not only are we keeping good, stable jobs in the U.S., but that we're creating jobs here, too," said Florin. "We hope to continue this trend for many years to come."
