DirectRooms.com reveals that a gruelling mountain bike race lasting for a total of ten hours is set to be held around the trails of the UK's highest mountain Ben Nevis.

10 Under The Ben will be testing riders to see how many laps of the challenging circuit they can complete in the ten hours of racing. The course will feature various rigorous climbs, mixed with fast down hills and slippery terrain to test racers along the way. Riders will have to find the right combination of balance and speed over many sections with rocky terrain and difficult tree roots just some of the many obstacles that await the challengers.

The circuit itself is ten miles in length although riders do not have to cycle for ten hours continuously and for anyone needing a well deserved rest there'll be live music and performances running all day.

Competitors can enter individually or as a team consisting of two, three or four riders where each member competes in a relay, with one rider racing on the circuit at any one time. The race will take place on 21st May 2011 in Fort William or attendees can choose to stay a nearby hotels Inverness before and after the race.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "The competition is now in its seventh year and continues to grow with hundreds of riders taking part every year. Hotels within the area and in Inverness will struggle to accommodate everyone so people should make their hotel arrangements early."
