Dorrance Publishing Co, Inc, established in 1920, will be donating to the Earth Day organization in celebration of Earth Day on April 22nd. Also participating will be the imprints of Dorrance Publishing, RoseDog Books and Red Lead Press.Dorrance, the oldest name is subsidy publishing, just celebrated its ninetieth year in business, embracing its history that is unique in the subsidy-publishing field. Colonel Gordon Dorrance, a member of the distinguished Main Line Philadelphia family that owned Campbell's Soup Company, originally founded the company in 1920. Throughout its history, Dorrance has had only five owners; all have held the company for long periods of time and were committed to its mission of offering excellence in publishing opportunities to authors, most of who have been new and unknown, and who believe in their work and wish to exercise their rights of self-expression.
In order to help preserve this history and ensure our future, Dorrance Publishing has decided to pledge a donation for every e-book order that is received in the month of April. By promoting e-books with an extra 10% discount over the sale of traditional bound books for the month, Dorrance hopes to decrease its own footprint on the environment as well as make others aware of the impacts that they have on the environment. By encouraging its staff, authors, and customers to make smarter, "greener" decisions, Dorrance hopes to increase awareness and education efforts around the world.
For over forty years, the Earth Day Network has been empowering people around the world to think and act "green." By providing various tools and educational opportunities, Earth Day has raised awareness of our impact on the environment. By focusing on a more sustainable future, participants in Earth Day can hope to limit the effects their day-to-day choices have on our planet.
This year, Earth Day is focusing on their campaign for "A Billion Acts of Green." By visiting their website, www.earthday.org, contributions can be made by pledging acts of green. Individuals can also see their footprint by answering questions about their everyday decisions. For education tips and tools, you can also view the National Civic Education Project link and see how NCEP can support you in your efforts to make a more environment-conscience world.
The goal of Dorrance Publishing is to show support for our environment and advocate for a cleaner, more sustainable future. It is hoped consumers will support this initiative by placing an e-book order this month and spreading the word, which will allow the publisher to donate to the Earth Day Network and increase awareness and programs throughout the world.
