Climax to Unveil Improved BB5000 Portable Boring Machine at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2011
March 11, 2011 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Newberg, Ore. – March 11, 2011 – ConExpo-Con/Agg 2011, Climax Portable Machine Tools will be demonstrating its newly redesigned BB5000 portable boring machine, the most compact, versatile and powerful machine in its class. Climax boring machines are used by the heavy construction and mining industries worldwide to efficiently and cost-effectively repair and maintain its heavy equipment in-situ. The BB5000 and other heavy-duty portable machine tools will be exhibited at Booth N-1241 in the North Hall at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2011 being held March 22-26 in Las Vegas.Upgrades to the BB5000 boring machine include a new rotational drive unit that provides increased torque at all speeds, and an electric motor that's comparable to hydraulic in terms of power. It is designed to make quick work of tough machining jobs and to work in areas too restrictive for most boring machines. Climax is offering customers a special show price on the purchase of the machine. Also at the booth will be Brunson Instruments, a world leader in large-scale metrology solutions, who is displaying the new optical bore alignment system they designed and developed exclusively for the BB5000.
Jim Miller, Senior Applications Engineer at Climax, will also be on hand to answer customers' questions about their most challenging machining problems. Jim has over 30 years of field machining experience, and has consulted for numerous companies on projects worldwide.
To demonstrate the fast metals-removal capabilities of Climax machine tools, the company is holding a "flying chip" contest at the booth. Three lucky people will win prizes of up to $5,000 off the purchase of any Climax machine.
On display will also be Climax's portable flange facer circular mills, a new line of portable flange facing machines that can be configured for single-point machining only, for milling only, or for both milling and single-point machining. The machine's grinding arm and head can provide nearly four times the metal removal capabilities and generate a finer surface finish compared to single point machining.
