The United States Environmental Protection Agency is stepping up enforcement, as over 250 Million computers become obsolete in the next few years and rapid changes in technology make donating obsolete technology or sending it to the dump impractical.

New federal laws, in the United States, require, disposal practices that are reasonable and appropriate to prevent the unauthorized access to, or use of, information in a consumer report.

Individuals and organizations could get hit with huge fines and lawsuits for improper computer disposal, which includes proper data destruction and not sending computer materials to landfills.

“We work directly with technology directors, office managers and business owners who now realize it is just faster, safer and cheaper to have someone else handle their computer disposal needs. This is a good way for them to avoid messing with it.” Said Phil Kuhlenbeck, owner of www.scrapitout.com, a computer recycler and data destruction service company based in Austin, Texas.

Soon, by law, most businesses in the United States will be required to properly re-use or recycle 100% of their end-of-life computer equipment or face severe fines, penalties and even damage to their public image.

Kuhlenbeck goes on to say, “Companies choose to work with us because this is all we do. We are the specialists. Computer makers, charities and other organization probably all mean well in their computer recycling efforts, but this is our core business. We are set up to properly handle data destruction and computer disposal so it makes sense to work with us.”

Based in Austin, Texas Scrap It Out, LLC and Scrapitout.com handles the proper disposal of information and records to protect against unauthorized access or use of private information as well as environmentally friendly computer disposal technologies for organizations, businesses and government agencies of any size.
