The 2011 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is the perfect excuse for people staying in cheap accommodation to embrace their love for fine dining and drink.

Mixologists from Campari and Siglo will be on hand at 150 Years of Aperitivo to ply guests, including those staying in Melbourne hotels, with an array of delicious cocktails and canapes, and teach them more about the history of the red spirit.

This showcase will take place on March 6th at Siglo's rooftop Melbourne Supper Club between 13:00 and 16:00 local time and will cost AU$75 to attend.

Cheap hotels Melbourne guests with more down-to-earth preferences may enjoy visiting the Bambini Pizza School at Brighton's White Rabbit Restaurant, where kids aged between six and 12 can learn how to cook the Italian favourite.

Lessons cost AU$35 for a pizza and take-home package and will run on March 6th between 12:00 and 14:00, and from 15:00 to 17:00 local time.

Now in its 19th year, the festival has also tended to attract some of the biggest names in the worlds of wine and cuisine, as well as showing off the state's many celebrated chefs and eateries.
