LateRooms.com - Thousands to check out Adelaide Film Festival
January 29, 2011 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
The upcoming Adelaide Film Festival (AFF) is sure to cause a surge in demand for hotel deals in the South Australian capital when it comes to town next month.Running between February 24th and March 6th 2011, fans of the silver screen who attend will get to see a diverse array of movies from Australia and around the world, in what the organisers have described as the country's premiere event of its kind.
Motion pictures from 49 nations were aired at the 2009 edition, with 23 world firsts coming among these numbers. More than 49,000 patrons watched these showcases and this year's occasion is expected to surpass that figure, so rooms at cheap Adelaide hotels are likely to be in short supply throughout.
Among the highlights of AFF 2011 is the prestigious Vale Ale Gala Opening Night at the Festival Theatre, which will involve the first ever screening of Mrs Carey's Concert, a documentary about coming of age and making music at a girls' school in Sydney.
Tickets for this event are available from AU$75, but people planning to stay in Adelaide hotels in order to attend have been warned that it always sells out, so purchases should be made soon.
Ten-day passes that allow admission to 13 screenings are priced at AU$130.
For more information on this event, visit the AFF website or contact the organisers on (+61) 8 8223 2070.
