Media Trucks Launches First Permanent Daily Mobile Advertising Route in Chicago

CHICAGO - Mobile advertising company, Media Trucks, launched Chicago’s first permanent daily mobile advertising route. The company’s Loop Truck circulates through the Loop and surrounding areas as well as the Magnificent Mile portion of Michigan Avenue Monday through Friday for a minimum of 40 hours per week.
“The Loop Route provides a high-value, low-cost alternative to traditional media for smaller businesses who cannot afford print, radio or television advertisement,” said Media Trucks President, Doug Miles. “The Loop Route also addresses a shortage of billboard space in the Loop, which is extremely limited and expensive due to zoning issues.”
Studies have shown that out-of-home advertising has become more effective as newspaper readership declines and more people turn to personalized technology such as TiVO and MP3 players to avoid radio and television advertising.

The three-sided Loop Truck can carry up to seven sets of three signs, which are backlit and scroll throughout the day. The truck parks in high-traffic areas of the route for 15 minutes every hour to maximize exposure. The Loop is home to over 600,000 workers and 80,000 residents each weekday and is the most densely populated square mile west of Manhattan. The Magnificent Mile is one of the most famous shopping areas in the United States and draws shoppers and tourists from all over the world.

Media Trucks also offers scrolling billboard trucks for custom routes, night routes and special event routes such as sporting events, festivals and concerts. The trucks also play music on external speakers and include in-cab microphones and PA systems. They are also equipped to carry scenic and live model displays in the glass-covered advertising compartments.
