Dempsey Dyer Expand Energy Efficient Window Offering
November 02, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Dempsey Dyer, a UK manufacturer of high performance window, door and conservatory solutions has achieved additional 'Window Energy Ratings' to broaden their range of energy efficient window products.Focusing on their UPVC product range, Dempsey Dyer have increased their energy rated window offering to provide both 'A' and 'C' ratings across all three profile systems.
The additional window energy ratings were sought after notification regarding the changes to 'Document L' that were due to come into effect from the 1st October 2010. The initial requirement was for all replacement windows to achieve a minimum energy rating of 'C'. This led to Dempsey Dyer introducing 'C' ratings across all profile systems. Further to this, the company added the highest 'A' rating to the Deceuninck 2500 'Chamfered' range of windows whilst renewing their existing 'A' ratings on both the Deceuninck 2800 'Decorative' and 3000 'Zendow' systems.
Only weeks before the changes to Document L were due to come into effect, the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme (FENSA) made an extraordinary u-turn and changed the regulations to provide a simple method of compliance where installers/fabricators were only required to provide a soft coat low-e unit with argon filled cavity and warm edge spacer to comply with the regulation changes. This meant that there was no specific requirement for a certified window energy rating.
Upon hearing the news that their planned expansion to energy rated window products was no longer required, Dempsey Dyer decided to continue the process of achieving their additional window energy ratings to provide consumers with a comprehensive choice of fully accredited and certified energy efficient windows.
Peter Dyer, sales and marketing director at Dempsey Dyer had the following to say regarding the decision to continue and achieve the additional energy ratings, "Dempsey Dyer has been involved in the Window Energy Ratings scheme since 2006. We believe that it gives consumers a clear comparison between products and as a forward thinking company that's committed to providing quality products to market, we decided to continue and achieve all planned window energy ratings. Regulation compliance is a prerequisite to any manufacturer but we believe in product differentiation and innovation hence our commitment to the Window Energy Ratings Scheme".
Following the addition of further Window Energy Rating labels to the scheme, Dempsey Dyer have further committed to adding the same ratings to their Timber product range. This is due to be completed by mid 2011.
